When you download an app from the App Store, it shows up right on your iPhone’s Home screen. You can then access and use it as soon as the installation is complete.
But if you have iOS 14 or a later version of the system software installed, newly downloaded apps may be missing from the Home screen pages. Why — App Gallery on your iPhone.

What is App Gallery on iPhone?
Apple introduced the App Gallery for iPhone in iOS 14. It’s a separate space that lists every app on your iOS device. You may have come across it or even used it. But if you’re new to iPhone (or iOS 14), you can access it by swiping to the last Home screen page, then swiping again to the left.
The App Gallery automatically organizes the apps on your iPhone into categories like Productivity & Finance, Utilities, and Social. You can tap any app in a category to open it. If a category contains four or more apps, you have to tap the small icon cluster in the lower right to show everything.

Since the App Gallery contains shortcuts for all installed apps (both pre-built and third-party apps), it helps reduce clutter on the iPhone Home screen. Instead, you can remove apps from your Home screen (without removing them) and access them quickly from the App Gallery.
Also, there is an option related to the Home screen in iOS that will prompt the App Store to only install apps to the App Library. If you can’t find downloaded apps on your Home screen, that setting might be active, so you have to check them inside the App Gallery.
How to locate downloaded apps in the App Gallery
You can find downloaded apps inside the App Gallery using any of the methods below.
Check under “Recently Added”
App gallery shows newly downloaded apps in Recently added at the top of the screen. If you can’t find the app you’re looking for right away, just expand the category and you’ll be able to spot it.

List of apps look inside
Next to the Recently Added category, you can find the app in the category it belongs to (say Creative). App libraries tend to misclassify apps, so be prepared to do some research around.
Search in the App Gallery
The app gallery also allows you to search for apps within it. Just type the name of the app in the search area at the top of the screen (or perform a swipe down gesture to activate search mode) and you’ll see it among the search results in no time.

Using the App Gallery in List View
You can also locate apps inside the App Gallery in list view. Start by performing a swipe down gesture to enter search mode. Instead of searching, follow the swipe up gesture to exit the virtual keyboard. You can then scroll down your apps alphabetically.

Use the iPhone’s search function
You can access newly downloaded apps without going to the App Gallery in the first place. Simply bring up your iPhone’s Search function by swiping down on any Home page. Then search for the app and press To go to launch it.

Just ask Siri
You can also ask Siri to open any app on your iPhone. Press and hold Edge or say “Hello Siri“To call Siri. Then say it “Open [App Name]“And the application will launch automatically.
How to move apps out of the app library
If you want to access a downloaded app directly from your Home screen, you can add it to your Home screen using one of the two methods below.
Use the “Add to Home Screen” quick action
Find the app in the App Gallery. Then, touch and hold the app icon. On the context menu that appears, select Add to home screen act quickly. You’ll see the app on your Home screen immediately.

Drag and drop to the Home screen
Find the app in the App Gallery. Then hold the app and start dragging it. You will automatically exit to the Home screen. Drop the app icon on the Home screen page where you want it to appear.
How to download apps back to home screen
If you want apps to show up on the Home screen on your iPhone when you download them, you must toggle the settings in iOS using these steps.
1. Open Setting app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and press Home screen.
3. Under New app downloadclap Add to home screen.

Downloaded apps will appear on both the Home screen and the App Gallery going forward. In case you want to switch back to adding only apps to the App Gallery, repeat the steps above but choose App Gallery Only right to buy.
