How to take screenshots or record audio on iPad

Most Apple products have extremely intuitive user interfaces and designs, and many functions are easy to learn and implement. However, some things may not be immediately obvious, such as taking screenshots on an iPad.

You can also record screen videos on the iPad, but that’s a relatively new feature. You may be wondering how you can get started with a recording? Once you learn how you will find that it is an extremely memorable process.

You also don’t need to download any special software to take screenshots or record your iPad screen. These features are integrated directly into the user interface. You can do both whenever you need to, no matter what you’re doing.

How to take a screenshot on your iPad

Follow these steps to easily take a screenshot:

  1. While on the screen where you want to take a screenshot, press the power button and home button at the same time. If you have an iPad with FaceID, you need to press the top button and the Volume Up button.

  1. The screen will flash white and your screenshot will show in the lower left corner of the screen.
  1. You can tap the screenshot to edit it before it is saved. This includes cropping or marking up your images.

How to record screen on your iPad

Screen recording on your iPad is now simple as Apple has added the feature so it’s directly accessible in the Control Center. First, follow these steps to make sure you have access to screen recording capabilities.

  1. Open Settings> Control Center
  1. If you don’t see Screen Recorder Under Consists of find it under More control section.
  1. Tap the green plus sign next to Screen Recorder to add it in Consists of list. You should now be able to access screen recording in your Control Center.

Here’s how to use the screen recording function:

  1. Swipe down in the top-right corner of your iPad’s screen. The Control Center menu will appear.

  1. Click the icon at the bottom of this menu that looks like a solid circle within a border of the circle. The countdown will begin before recording your iPad’s screen. When you tap away from Control Center, you’ll see a red icon in the top right corner of your iPad, which means it’s recording.
  1. When the recording is done, you can return to the Control Center and tap the same icon to end. Your recording will then be saved to Photo library.

Keep in mind that the iPad’s screen recording function works best for recordings as short as a few minutes. You can still create longer recordings, but recording may stop abruptly if there isn’t enough space on your iPad to record.

How to find and edit your screenshots and recordings

Your iPad will automatically save your screenshots and recordings to Picture application. You can easily find your most recent pictures and videos in Photo library by going to yours Recently album. You can also scroll down and you will see a list named Types of vehicles. Under this y you will find two albums dedicated to screenshots and screen recordings.

If you want to edit either of these directly from your Photos app, all you have to do is tap the photo or video and find Edit in the top right corner. This editing function allows you to crop, rotate, or change settings such as brightness or contrast in your screenshots.

You can also bookmark photos by tapping the ellipsis icon in the top right. Then press Tick. You will be given various options to write or draw on your screenshot. There’s even a ruler option that you can use to create straight lines. You can also choose from a variety of colors. When you’re happy with how you’ve edited your screenshot, just tap Accomplished.

If you are editing a screen recording, you can trim the video directly from this editing function. Just move the frame on either side of the video scene at the bottom of the screen. You can also tap the ellipsis icon here and import your video into iMovie or another app.

Other apps for editing screenshots and recording screen

If you want some other options beyond what the Photos app has to offer, there are plenty of other ways to edit.

PicsArt is a great option for editing both photos and videos. It has a lot of great editing tools and allows you to make more in-depth changes. You can add text, edit multiple images together, and choose from a wide variety of filters that are also editable. The app itself and nearly all of its editing features are free, but you can also purchase add-ons like text fonts or more filters.

If you’re looking for something to do with video editing for your screen recording, iMovie is Apple’s free editing software that’s super easy to use on iPad. As mentioned before, you can import your screen recordings directly into iMovie, or you can go into the app and import them that way when starting a new project.

Share your screenshots or recordings

If you want to share your screenshot or recording, you can do it the same way you would with any other image or video. You can upload them to social media usually from your Photo Gallery, or you can share them right from the Photos app.

To do this, when you are viewing a screenshot or recording in Photos, you can tap the icon in the top right that shows a box and an up arrow. From here, you can select multiple photos or videos to share, and you can choose an app to share. This includes iMessage, email, and any apps that support photo or video sharing.
