How to set up a printer on your iPhone or iPad

Printing on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch is easier than you think, thanks to Apple’s AirPrint protocol. Just spend a little time setting up your printer before you start using it on your iOS or iPad OS device.

But what if some printers don’t support AirPrint? do not worry. To submit print jobs wirelessly, you can continue to use the printer manufacturer’s support app. Also, if you’re using a wired-only printer, you can choose a third-party AirPrint activator to help.

Print on iPhone and iPad using AirPrint

If your wireless printer doesn’t support AirPrint, you’ll need to install the support software available from the App Store. For example, you can use a printing app such as Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY, Epson iPrint, or HP Smart to print wirelessly from your iPhone or iPad. These apps also offer additional customization options for AirPrint compatible printers, so it’s still a good idea to install them.

Here’s an overview of how the HP Smart app works:

1. Install HP Smart from the App Store.

2. Open HP Smart and create an HP account (or sign in if you already have one).
